Under normal circumstances, the required material only needs to meet the following conditions:1. The material must possess tensile strength and fatigue strength to fully ensure the normal functioning of elastic properties.3. It must exhibit strong weldability and meet all welding requirements.4. Elasticity is a primary characteristic of the material, as steel corrugated pipes are constantly affected by changes in time and temperature.5. The required material must have sufficient corrosion resistance to ensure the service life and safety of steel corrugated pipes in engineering applications.
Corrugated pipe culverts refer to threaded corrugated pipes used for culverts laid beneath highways and railways. They are circular steel structural pipes formed by rolling corrugated steel plates or assembled from corrugated steel sheets. The corrugated structure of metal corrugated pipe culverts ensures rational stress distribution across the culvert roadway, uniform load bearing, and inherent deformation resistance. This addresses frost damage to concrete bridges and culverts in northern cold regions. The absence of expansion joints enhances driving comfort while mitigating “step-off” phenomena at soft soil foundation-road embankment interfaces, thereby improving traffic safety. Corrugated pipe culverts feature low post-construction operational and maintenance costs, with actual project expenses lower than comparable bridges or culverts of equivalent span. Their inlet and outlet ends can be tapered to match slope gradients. Available in diameters ranging from 0.5 to 8 meters with wall thicknesses of 3 to 7 millimeters, they accommodate backfill thicknesses from 0.5 to 40 meters.
The main differences between 2-series and 3-series stainless steel lie in their chemical composition, properties, and applications.2-series stainless steels, such as 201 and 202, primarily contain high levels of manganese and nitrogen, with relatively low or no nickel.3-series stainless steels, such as 304 and 316, primarily contain chromium and nickel as alloying elements, with a high nickel content. These two different chemical compositions lead to significant differences in their properties and applications.3-series stainless steels contain higher proportions of chromium and nickel, making them significantly more corrosion-resistant than 2-series stainless steels. This is particularly true in corrosive environments, such as seawater and chemical plants, where 3-series stainless steels perform particularly well. 304 stainless steel is the most common grade, offering excellent corrosion resistance, heat resistance, low-temperature strength, and mechanical properties.Because of its higher proportions of nickel and chromium, 3-series stainless steels generally offer better overall properties than 2-series stainless steels. While 2-series stainless steels may offer some corrosion resistance in certain situations, they are generally inferior to 3-series stainless steels.
